As we say goodbye to 2020 I feel many things. Tired, angry, and depressed but to name a few of the rollercoaster of emotions I have been faced with this year, as I’m sure we all have. Lockdown after lockdown has an awful effect on people’s mental health, including my own, and to say that I have suffered mentally since the Covid crisis began would be a rather big understatement. On the other hand I am well aware of how lucky I am to still be alive and kicking in a pandemic such as this when some people no longer have that luxury due to succumbing to the virus or to their own mental health issues.
So what will 2021 hold? With vaccines finally rolling out across the world hopefully this hell we’ve had to endure for the last 12 months will finally come to an end. It’s difficult to focus on a light at the end of the tunnel as things stand though. My area in England has just entered Tier 4, the highest Tier, today which means a more supressed New Year’s Eve celebration than normal will be taking place this evening. At least we had a semi-normal Christmas I suppose.
Looking forward though, I have a lot of plans to be excited about next year (as long as they can all go ahead). Various concerts and music festivals are on the horizon which are things I really enjoy, so they’ll be good to keep my spirits up. I’m also at the start of a hopefully successful weight loss journey which I’m pleased about.
Finally, this coming year I plan on really putting more effort into this blog, so, at some point in the coming months, expect to see new things such as video blogs as I plan on trying to be more interactive with you all.
Happy New Year everyone. Let’s make 2021 a better year if at all possible.
